Built on Nuclear Quality Standards

Supported by 10CFR50 Appendix B, 10CFR21, NQA-1, ASME Section III, N, NPT (with material), NS, and controlled documentation processes, our quality program helps ensure traceability, compliance, and confidence throughout the project lifecycle.

Engineering Solutions for Complex Nuclear Applications

Master Machine provides reverse engineering services, Commercial Grade Dedication (CGD) equipment qualification support, obsolescence solutions, and custom engineering services for nuclear, aerospace, and mission-critical industries. From build-to-print projects to complex system innovation and engineering service applications, our engineering team helps customers solve technical challenges, extend equipment life, and support the long-term reliability of nuclear infrastructure.

From Obsolescence to Opportunity

As systems age and essential components become difficult—or impossible—to source, organizations face increasing challenges in maintaining reliability, performance, and operational continuity. Across the operating nuclear fleet, aging equipment and discontinued parts place growing pressure on utilities to find qualified suppliers capable of reverse engineering, qualifying, and manufacturing replacement components. Through reverse engineering, equipment qualification support, testing, and custom-engineered solutions, Master Machine helps customers overcome technical challenges and move forward with confidence.

Nuclear Utilities Services

Dedicated Support for Nuclear Fleet Reliability

Obsolescence support is a critical challenge across the operating nuclear fleet. As original equipment manufacturers exit the market and replacement parts become unavailable through commercial channels, utilities need a qualified partner who can identify, reverse engineer, qualify, and deliver replacement components — fast.  Master Machine’s Nuclear Utilities Services Group helps utilities identify, qualify, reverse engineer, and replace components that are no longer commercially available, helping extend equipment life while supporting safe, reliable operation. The NUS team includes multiple PE-licensed engineers with decades of combined nuclear experience.

Engineering in Action

Project Showcase

Utility reestablishment of supply chain for a safety-related air handling unit.

The Problem

A nuclear utility required support for a plant obsolescence project involving a nuclear safety-related HVAC system. With the original fan system no longer available, the customer needed a qualified replacement to support the plant replacement project while maintaining the requirements of a safety-related application.

The Part

A nuclear safety-related, OEM obsolete fan system requiring fabrication and testing to support the plant replacement project.

The Solution

Master Machine researched and identified the commercial OEM, then worked with the manufacturer to transfer the design to Master Machine for nuclear safety-related fabrication. Commercial Grade Dedication (CGD) was utilized to support OEM testing and certification, resulting in a like-for-like replacement while reestablishing the supply chain for the system.

Obsolete OEM Gear Component for TVA

The Problem

A nuclear utility needed to replace an obsolete safety-related gear assembly after the original OEM discontinued manufacturing the component. The customer required a qualified replacement to support outage schedule requirements.

The Part

A nuclear safety-related machined gear assembly featuring an EDM-cut keyway, manufactured to replace the obsolete OEM component.

The Solution

Master Machine reverse-engineered the existing OEM safety-related gear assembly and manufactured the replacement in-house, including the EDM keyway. The completed assembly met the customer's outage schedule requirements while providing a replacement for the obsolete component.
